Anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgY are chicken egg antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 which have the potential to provide temporary protection against the virus when administered as intranasal drops.L27381 To create these antibodies, chickens are injected in the chest with the spike protein, which is the surface protein of SARS-CoV-2; this results in an immune response mounted by the chickens towards the injected spike protein. From there, the chicken antibodies are harvested from the egg yolks of the eggs laid by these chickens and formulated into the nasal drops that can be administered.
